What’s next for UCLA football? A home opener against Utah on Saturday

UCLA (0-1) vs. Utah  (0-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Saturday

Where: Rose Bowl

Watch/listen: FOX / AM 570

UCLA update: The Bruins will have a regular week to regroup from its season-opening loss and to prepare for Utah. UCLA was expecting a short week before the game was moved from Friday to Saturday to allow more time for Utah’s players to clear COVID-19 protocols. The offense struggled in the first half with four turnovers, including three fumbles against Colorado. The special teams unit was a bright spot with two blocked field goals but kick returner Kyle Philips did fumble on an early return. After one player tested positive for coronavirus, that will likely be a key storyline to watch this week.

Utah update: The Utes had to cancel their season opener Saturday against Arizona after players tested positive for COVID-19. The number of tests was not announced by the school or the Pac-12, that approved the Utes request to cancel the game. Utah will need to have enough scholarship players available this week to play the Bruins.
