Moreno Valley woman killed in San Bernardino shooting

A woman from Moreno Valley was killed in a shooting week, police said on Saturday.

An individual who had heard shots in the 200 block of East Sonora Drive had called police at 9:19 a.m. on Thursday, San Bernardino police said in a news release.

At an alley in the block, officers found evidence that a shooting had occurred, police said.

Minutes later, police said they were notified that the victim had been driven to a hospital by friends. The victim, identified as Courtney Del Miller, 27, of Moreno Valley, died at the hospital following surgery.

Police said a motive for the shooting remains unclear.
