Curtis Millender and Joe Schilling to clash at Bellator 249

A pair of Southern California middleweights will tangle next month on a Bellator MMA card headlined by a Southern California champion.

Fullerton’s Curtis Millender will take on Los Angeles’ Joe Schilling at Bellator 249 on Oct. 15 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The Thursday night card, which will air on CBSSports.com, is headlined by featherweight champion Cris Cyborg of Huntington Beach, in her first title defense, battling Australia’s Arlene Blencowe.

The 185-pound undercard bout is an important one as Millender (18-6) and Schilling (4-6) are coming off losses.

The 32-year-old Millender, after going 3-2 in the UFC and winning his Bellator debut eight months ago, dropped a unanimous decision to Sabah Homasi on Aug. 7 at Bellator 243.

The 36-year-old Schilling, a kickboxing specialist, saw a two-fight win streak snapped after he was knocked out in the third round by Tony Johnson nearly a year ago at Bellator 229.
